Good Ideas
List of stylistic stuff that I like, updated whenever.
- Double monk-strap shoes.
- Gingham, pretty much always.
- White jeans: always in summer, and frequently in winter. (Winter white = vastly underrated.)
- Bow ties (duh).
- Kilts, both traditional and utility.
- Cutaway collars.
- Club collars.
- Bold shirts.
- Bold suits, generally not (but sometimes) with the aforementioned bold shirts.
- Peak lapels.
- Ticket pockets.
- Hacking pockets.
- Surgeon’s cuffs.
- Open lapel buttonholes. If yours isn’t, there’s a decent chance you can open it without problems using an exacto knife. I’ve done 2 or 3 jackets successfully.
- Stuff in your lapel buttonholes. Silk cuff knots are good, if you can’t come by a fresh flower.
- Cuff links.
- Experimental, self-done alterations.
- Ascots.
- Knit ties (probably the easiest casual/business transition tie out there.)
- Three-piece suits.
- Tweed. Always more tweed.
- Chuck Taylors. (Hi-top > low-top, but both acceptable. Bonus points with a suit.)
